Teaching & Leading for Social Justice

Description:
Bank Street College Alumni Association Social Justice Committee invites you to join us for a book talk by Beverly Falk, author of High-Quality Early Learning for a Changing World: What Educators Need to Know and Do. Falk will highlight the fundamentals of teaching in early childhood settings (pre-K–2), with a focus on what high-quality practices look like, detailing the features of developmentally appropriate, linguistically responsive, culturally relevant/sustaining teaching and how this approach can prepare our youngest citizens for the challenges of our 21st-century world.

The book talk will include small group discussions on how to apply these ideas in practice.

There will be books for sale through the Bank Street Bookstore at a discount for participants and a book signing during the networking time.

RSVP is required to enter the building.
