A Bit About Me: I moved from Los Angeles (by way of San Diego) over a decade ago. You’re likely to find me exploring New York City with just as much excitement as a newly-minted transplant. I love exploring new restaurants (especially in Queens) and NYC’s many cultural institutions (The Met is my favorite museum of all time).
Why Bank Street: In the years I’ve been at Bank Street, I’ve read hundreds of applications. In the written materials of these applications, our students articulate a desire to use their work in and out of classrooms as a platform for social change. Bank Street is a small and tight-knit community but the reach of our work spans many generations, geographic locations, and content areas. Seeing such inspiring work makes me reflect on my own and I’m grateful to be at a place that encourages me to think about what I do in the context of a much larger, mission-oriented goal.
Favorite Local Spot: If you’re into noodles, Junzi Kitchen will be your latest addiction. You’ll see plenty of Bank Streeters get their local coffee at Samad’s Gourmet. For some zen and awe-inspiring architecture, visit The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine.
