Academic Programs

Professor Peggy McNamara meeting with studentsBuilt on progressive principles, our programs provide graduate students with a rigorous and humanistic foundation for their careers.

Across all of our programs, graduate students apply direct experiences with children, educators, families, and communities to critical explorations of theory and research. Our teacher education and child life programs prepare candidates to be teachers in general, special, and bilingual education settings from birth to adolescence, as well as museum educators, reading and literacy specialists, curriculum specialists, child life practitioners in healthcare settings, and more. Our leadership programs prepare candidates to assume teacher, school, district, and museum leadership roles in a diverse range of settings.
