About Me: I am a new resident to the city and couldn’t be happier to be here! While originally from East Tennessee, I’ve always gravitated towards city-life—there’s just something about schlepping around with my groceries and the latest Facebook marketplace find. Although I’m still discovering my favorite spots, I’ve been enjoying finding a cozy spot at a nearby coffee shop or green space to sit and read a good book.
Why Bank Street: Having worked in secondary education as both a teacher and school counselor, I’m more confident than ever that meaningful systemic change begins within higher education, particularly through teacher preparation and leadership programs. What drew me to Bank Street is its commitment to preparing students not only to recognize barriers to equitable education, but also to become proactive advocates for social justice. To participate in building a community of educators who champion equity, advocate for students, and work collectively to create more just and inclusive educational spaces is the heart of my why.
Qualifications: MA of Education in School Counseling from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, BS in English Language Arts Education from Auburn University, Alabama
