This three-part series is designed specifically for white educators committed to deepening their anti-racist practice. Through a progression from historical understanding to personal awareness and, ultimately, accountable action, participants will engage in meaningful reflection and collective learning.
Together, we will:
- Build a supportive community rooted in shared purpose and mutual accountability
- Examine the historical construction of whiteness and its role in shaping dominant cultural norms
- Explore the characteristics of white dominant culture and reflect on how we unconsciously embody them
- Investigate privileges and oppressed identities, with attention to the intersectionality of our multiple identities
- Develop greater awareness of how bias and racism manifest within ourselves and our institutions
- Practice tools and strategies for interrupting and addressing racism in real time
- Commit to holding ourselves and one another accountable as we move forward in our anti-racist journeys.
Participants are expected to attend all three sessions to ensure continuity and depth of engagement.
