Fun with High Frequency Words (Grades 1 - 4)

In this class, teachers will learn that irregular words do contain decodable patterns and that when they reveal these patterns to students, they give children a powerful context for remembering. Drawing from research on Orthographic Mapping, teachers will learn fun and engaging activities for teaching irregularly spelled high frequency words. These activities are designed to supplement, rather than replace classroom reading programs.
