Bank Street alumni in leadership roles will share their stories, struggles, and success. “From Surviving to Thriving” is inspired by the work of Rabin Nickens, GSE ’03, the event moderator, who is currently a Senior Instructional Specialist at the NYCDOE. Rabin co-authored Authenticity and the Female African American School Leader, which showcases research on African-American school leaders and their experiences with code-switching and micro aggressions and also highlights their resiliency and approach to oppression in the work place.
