Graduate Admissions | Virtual Information Session | Progressive Leadership, SDL, Studies in Education Programs

Description:

Looking to advance your career in education? Join us on Tuesday, November 28 for a Virtual Information Session focusing on our Progressive Leadership, SDL, and Studies in Education programs, starting at 6:00 PM EST. Here’s more information about the programs we’ll be discussing:

  • Our Progressive Leadership program prepares experienced educators for leadership roles in schools and district settings. As a student in the Progressive Leadership program, you will learn alongside a dedicated group of educators who share your passion for pre-K through 12 education, building a strong professional network while pursuing challenging coursework and guided fieldwork. Upon graduation, you will qualify for a range of educational leadership roles, including education administrator, assistant principal, and principal.
  • Our School District Leadership (SDL) program provides prospective district leaders with the opportunity to participate in a unique certification course sequence focusing on effective district management strategies. This program requires 5 or 11 credits to complete, depending on the number of graduate-level courses you have earned.
  • Our Studies in Education program has two tracks, both of which allow you to create an individualized course of study across a range of course offerings or focus on one area of particular interest. If you choose the leadership track, your program will be online, while our teaching and learning track will be on-ground. You can create an individualized course of study across a range of course offerings or focus on one area of particular interest. You take courses from a few core areas, including human development, philosophy of education, curriculum development, and the social context, and then your remaining academic credits are taken in courses relevant to your particular interests. Up to six graduate credits can be transferred into the program from other institutions.

At our one-hour event, you’ll hear about these programs from our Chair of Educational Leadership programs, Lydia Colón Bomani, and faculty member Abbe Futterman, alongside members of our admissions, financial aid, certification, and career services teams who will explain what you need to know about all our processes. There will also be time for Q&A, so bring all your questions! We invite you to join us when you can within the 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM hour.
