Fun with Fungi! Featuring Bill Wurtzel and Claire Wurtzel
Description:
Library Salon #42 will feature author and visual artist Bill Wurtzel, who will discuss the food art that he began creating for his wife, Claire, a retired Bank Street Graduate School of Education faculty member, and how that blossomed into their collaboration on six books. Bill will take us through the creation of his latest book, FUNGI: Mushroom Art Like Nothing on Earth, which includes whimsical images alongside interesting facts about the kingdom of fungi.
Refreshments will be provided. Come and enjoy an amazing discussion about food while sipping wine and nibbling on delicious hors d’oeuvres!
About Bill Wurtzel
Bill Wurtzel is an artist who uses food as his medium. He began making food art mainly to amuse his wife, Claire, and still does. He creates spontaneously, and photographs quickly before his art is eaten. Bill and Claire have collaborated on food art workshops and books. In addition to being an artist, Bill is also a professional jazz guitarist. Bill had a career as an award-winning advertising creative director.
