Description:

Join us for a community screening of Rule Breakers (2025), the powerful true story of the Afghan women’s robotics team, followed by a live conversation with producer Laura Overdeck. 

An education advocate, STEM leader, and philanthropist, Laura is the founder of Bedtime Math and serves on the boards of Khan Academy and Liberty Science Center. Her work sits at the intersection of education, equity, and innovation. Following the film, Laura will join Suzanne McCotter, Dean of the Graduate School of Education, for a brief conversation and Q&A. 

This evening brings together alumni, faculty, students, and families for a shared reflection on courage, leadership, and the transformative power of education.

About Laura Overdeck

Laura Bilodeau Overdeck is the founder of the nonprofit Bedtime Math, and author of its four best-selling Bedtime Math books (Macmillan). She is also the producer of the 2025 film Rule Breakers, which tells the true story of the Afghan women’s robotics team. As a founding board member of the NJ Pandemic Relief Fund, she also helped launch the New Jersey Tutoring Corps, which continues to grow today.

Ms. Overdeck is an alumna and former trustee of Princeton University, where she earned a BA in astrophysics. She also holds an MBA from the Wharton School and an honorary doctorate from Stevens Institute of Technology. She serves on the boards of Khan Academy, Liberty Science Center, and Wake Up Call NJ, and the advisory council for Princeton’s Department of Astrophysical Sciences.
