Event Title:
[Virtual] Information Session: District 13 (Brooklyn) Teaching Residency in Childhood General & Special Education

Description:

This summer, we will be launching a 2-year residency for our 52-credit On-Campus Childhood General & Special Education program. This residency will be focused on District 13 in Brooklyn, New York, and will come with a special tuition rate of $850 per credit as well as a $20,000 stipend in the first year of the program. Bank Street’s partnership with District 13 represents a shared commitment to equity in education and the incorporation of anti-racist pedagogy at the district, school, and classroom levels. Grounded in the Bank Street approach to teaching and learning, which recognizes that individuals learn best when they are actively engaged with materials, ideas, and people, combined with District 13’s new culturally responsive and sustaining learning component, the new program enables students to be completely immersed in a classroom for a full year to deeply develop teaching skills and techniques with the support of an experienced teacher, an expert faculty advisor, and fellow classmates.
