The Office of Career Services invites all Bank Street educators (students, alumni, and faculty) to attend an alumni panel discussion about Understanding the Landscape of NYC Schools: Independent, Charter, and District Schools

Finding a school that is the right fit for you to join is important. This workshop will help you navigate through and provide valuable insights into the various school settings you’ll encounter during your job search process

Moderator

Marisol Feijoo ‘09 

  • Marisol is a district principal in District 9 (PS 110), a Bronx native who is passionate about educational reform, and a graduate of the Bank Street College Principal’s Institute. She began her career in the NYC Teaching Fellows program and has been a teacher, assistant principal, and now principal for almost 20 years. 

Panel Members

  • Independent Schools
    Emily Linsay ‘97 is the Lower School Division Head at the Bank Street School for Children. She has been a School for Children faculty member since 1995. Emily earned her MS in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education.
  • Charter Schools
    Sasha Wilson ‘99  is a founding co-director of Bronx Community Charter School. He has been an educator in public schools in the north-central Bronx for over 20 years. He earned both an MS in Elementary Education and an MS in Leadership for Social Change from Bank Street College of Education.
  • District Schools
    Erica Davis ‘11 is currently the principal of PS 261 in Brooklyn & President of BSCAA. She has over 20 years as an educator in the New York City public schools. Erica earned her Master of Education from the Principal’s Institute at Bank Street College of Education.Leila Rached ‘20 is the principal of PS 154, The Windsor Terrace School in Brooklyn. She earned her Master of Science in Math Education from Bank Street College of Education.
