Kevin B. Taylor

Director, Graduate Admissions

Credentials:  I earned my bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies and Sociology from UMass Amherst and my MBA in Marketing and Management from the University of Connecticut. I have worked in higher education for over 25 years.

Why Bank Street?  I chose to work at Bank Street because of its institutional culture. It is a very forward-thinking, people-centric organization, inspiring people to work at their optimal level. I am looking forward to utilizing my experience, collaborating with colleagues, and making an impact on meeting the enrollment goals of the institution.

Why do you enjoy admissions work? I love admissions work because you meet people from all over the world. You hear their stories and are able to assist them in meeting their goals and achieving their dreams. I also work with organizations, hear what their needs are, and collaborate on initiatives that work towards meeting those needs. Throughout the years, I have read a myriad of applications and have met with many groups and institutions. It is this work that continues to be interesting and compelling and underscores the value of doing admission work.

Do you have advice for students looking for the right graduate program? Advancing one’s education creates lifelong opportunities and relationships.  My advice is to make sure you evaluate the factors most important to you, which may include the reputation and culture of the school, faculty research and support, alumni outcomes, and other related considerations.
