Ellen McCrum

Adjunct Instructor

Ellen McCrum is an adjunct instructor at Bank Street, where she focuses on curriculum in the Teaching and Learning Department. A two-time graduate of Bank Street, her studies nurtured a deep love of math education and social studies. Lucy Sprague Mitchell’s Young Geographers sparked her passion for geography teaching — a pursuit she is now carrying into her EdD program at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. She currently teaches courses in curriculum, geography, and family-child-teacher interaction, and is collaborating with Abby Kerlin on research exploring how maps can support students in developing a geographic lens and mapping expertise beyond traditional curriculum settings.
