As an adjunct professor in the Leadership in Mathematics Education program, Carys supports practicing teachers in deepening their mathematical content knowledge and advancing equitable, student-centered instruction. Returning to teach in the very program she once completed has been a meaningful full-circle moment and reflects her enduring commitment to developing teacher-leaders who cultivate rigorous and inclusive mathematics classrooms.
A proud graduate of New York City Public Schools, Carys earned her BS in Mathematics from CUNY York College and a master’s degree in Teaching Students with Disabilities (7–12 Generalist) from SUNY Oswego. In addition to teaching Integrated Mathematics II, she serves as a public school mathematics special education teacher. She teaches in diverse classroom settings and supports special education teachers as an IEP coordinator.
