All alumni of the Bank Street Graduate School of Education and School for Children are invited back to Bank Street for its annual Alumni Weekend. This event is a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new connections, expand your professional network, and learn more about Bank Street’s work and the exciting changes taking place on campus. We hope you’ll join us for this momentous occasion during a weekend of substantive and fun-filled events!
Our School for Children Alumni Class Delegates will help organize and lead activities and events at Alumni Weekend. Our 2025 Class Delegates will be announced soon.

BSCAA Awards & Reception
Thursday, May 15 from 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Tabas Auditorium & Bank Street LobbyThe Bank Street College Alumni Association (BSCAA) will kick off the weekend by celebrating Graduate School alumni honorees at this year’s Alumni Awards ceremony and reception. Please join us in honoring the following alumni, whose outstanding work reflects the mission, beliefs, philosophy, and practices of Bank Street College:

2nd Floor Play DeckCongratulations to the School for Children Class of 2021! We’re so proud of all that you’ve accomplished over the past four years, and we’re thrilled to celebrate you as you head off to college. Join us back at Bank Street to:
- Catch up with former classmates and teachers
- Compete in a School for Children scavenger hunt to win prizes
- Grab an off-to-college care package so you can bring Bank Street swag with you on your next step
- Learn how Bank Street can support you in your academic and professional life
In keeping with the Bank Street buddy tradition, this celebration will be combined with our Five-Year Reunion. Reconnect with students from the Class of 2020 and be sure to ask them what they’ve learned during their first year in college!

2nd Floor Play DeckSchool for Children Class of 2020 — it’s been 5 years! We’re marking the anniversary of the in-person graduation ceremony you never had with a festive opportunity to come back to Bank Street and celebrate all that you’ve accomplished! Join us on the play deck to:

Stories in Scribbles: A Creative Workshop with Ruth Chan

5th Floor LibraryJoin us for a special Alumni Weekend event featuring Ruth Chan, Bank Street’s 2025 Writer-in-Residence! Ruth will share insights about her journey as an author-illustrator and her award-winning graphic novel. After a brief talk, families will engage in a hands-on creative activity—whether it’s a playful scribble drawing or a mini comic about a family memory, there’s something for every age to enjoy. Come ready to listen, laugh, and create together.
Alumni Basketball Game
Friday, May 17 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
9th Floor GymCatch up with old classmates and friends! Dust off your sneakers and play in our alumni basketball game on Friday evening. Alumni interested in playing in the game or attending the event need to RSVP. Refreshments will be provided.

This year, we spotlight three extraordinary changemakers—Dr. Asya Johnson, GSE ’12,’24; Dr. Elaine Ruiz-López, GSE ’84; and Dr. Anju J. Rupchandani, GSE ’14—who are breaking barriers and advancing equity in schools and beyond.
From mentoring underserved youth to founding groundbreaking schools, these visionary leaders will share their journeys, challenges, and insights on driving meaningful change. Engage in powerful conversations, connect with fellow alumni and educators, and be part of a community committed to educational justice.
