Health & Safety
Bank Street is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all students, faculty and staff, and visitors. Bank Street has developed a comprehensive health plan aligned to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the New York City Department of Health guidelines. Additionally, our policies are in compliance with New York’s HERO Act standards to protect against airborne infectious diseases.
We have identified a few key steps to make our buildings as safe as possible:
- Reduce the risk that someone who is currently infectious comes to school or work through vaccination, testing if exposed, and a robust symptom policy.
- Immediately isolate anyone who may be infectious if a case arises in our programs and transparently share information about who may have been exposed to the virus.
- Ensure increased ventilation and air purification to prevent the spread of the virus inside the building as well as ongoing cleaning and hygiene.
Visitors are considered anyone visiting Bank Street who are not a current faculty or staff member, student, or parent. Visitors at Bank Street may be required to adhere to specific health and safety policies, such as masking, providing proof of vaccination, providing a negative antigen test prior to attending the event, and/or following symptom screening policies. Prior to Alumni Weekend, attendees will receive any specific guidance around special policies or requirements.
