Emerging research links improvements in non-academic elements of reading such as identity, self-efficacy, engagement, and motivation to accelerated reading achievement for America’s most vulnerable students.
Part of Bank Street Alumni Weekend 2023, this dynamic keynote will welcome award-winning early childhood educator and Bank Street alum Alvin Irby, GSE ’09, who will share insights from his work cultivating the reading identity of Black boys and leveraging technology to design strengths-based reading programming and assessments as the Founder and Chief Reading Inspirer at Barbershop Books.
Food and beverages will be provided.
