Event Title:
Virtual Information Session | Leadership in Mathematics Education

Description:
Join Bank Street’s Office of Graduate Admissions for a Virtual Information Session about our Leadership in Mathematics Education graduate program—one of the few programs in the nation that grounds preparation for school leadership in mathematics education and allows you to be eligible for your School Building Leader (SBL) license upon graduation.

Our event will take place on Thursday, February 8, starting at 6:00 PM EST (we’ll be on Zoom until at least 7:00 PM, so join when you can—we’ll fill you in if you come late).
Program highlights:
  • Fully online 16-month program, starting this summer.
  • Using inquiry-based, student-centered pedagogies appropriate to all learners, mathematics at Bank Street focuses on developing leaders who deeply understand mathematical concepts and how to teach all learners for conceptual understanding.
  • Our progressive approach views teaching mathematics not as a series of strategies and formulas to memorize, but as a language used to conceptualize the world.
  • Graduates are eligible for a New York State School Building Leader license at the end of the program (if you’re outside of New York, you can pursue certification in your home state at program completion).
Our one-hour virtual info session will include breakout rooms with our Program Director Robin Hummel (who is also a proud graduate of the program), and members of the admissions, financial aid/scholarship, certification, and career services teams.
We hope you’ll join us!
