Lauren Bokaer became an early childhood educator in 2009 and has since taught children ages 1 through 10 in public, private, and charter school settings in New York and Singapore. Her work centers on progressive, play-based methods and philosophies, and her doctoral dissertation examined frameworks of Reggio-inspired education. She is passionate about equity in early childhood settings as a form of liberating young children. In addition to her work with Bank Street’s online program, where she supervises students’ field placements and supports Integrative Master’s Projects, Lauren runs the toddler room at Aspen Grove Preschool in Ithaca, NY.
