This online open house is for two programs: Curriculum & Instruction and Studies in Education.
Through our Curriculum & Instruction program, enhance your understanding of curriculum, deepen and strengthen your skills and understanding of creative, meaningful teaching! This program is designed for individuals who hold initial certification in general education or general and special education at the Early Childhood or Childhood level. Inquiry, reflection, creativity, and collaboration will be central to your experience at Bank Street.
Through the Studies in Education program, you can create an individualized course of study across a range of course offerings or focus one area of particular interest. You take courses from a few core areas, including human development, philosophy of education, curriculum development, and the social context, and then your remaining academic credits are taken in courses relevant to your particular interests. Up to six graduate credits can be transferred into the program from other institutions.
At this online open house, you’ll hear about supervised fieldwork, the curriculum, and admission into the program. We encourage you to come with plenty of questions!
