Responsibilities: I run the Getting Prepared to Start program for new graduate students.
Why Bank Street: I have a long history with Bank Street. As a graduate of the Family Center and the School for Children I got the full benefit of the Bank Street Graduate School from the vantage point of a child. Some of my favorite memories were with “student teachers” who thoughtfully and lovingly came through our classrooms each year. At the time I didn’t realize they were also students at Bank Street, but as I learned more I came to truly appreciate the hands-on approach that Bank Street provides at the Graduate School. Bank Street supports teachers with the tools and resources they need to succeed and I am thrilled to be one of the first to greet new students as they start, or continue their teaching journey at Bank Street.
Favorite Local Spot: Samads! If you are on campus it is an easy spot for a quick lunch, coffee and a muffin, or pick from the treats on the shelves. Find delicious middle easter selections as well as all the deli classics at the counter.
Experience: I am a recent graduate from a masters program at Hunter College and fully appreciate the complexity of approaching a graduate degree. Having recently navigated registration, financial aid and program planning I am uniquely qualified to support new students entering graduate school.
