Nesta Marshall

Supervised Fieldwork Advisor & Course Instructor

Nesta is often reminded that teaching is not a solo enterprise; it’s a journey with different travelers all headed toward a desired destination. Having had the opportunity to teach in elementary and middle school settings as well as serving as an instructor and advisor at our college, Nesta is committed to keeping constructivism vibrant in traditionally-driven classrooms. She is also excited about equipping teachers with tools to plan effective “inclusive” lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners regardless of their creed, color, class, culture, and competency while utilizing the students’ strengths and affinities as leverages to buttress their challenges. Moreover, her work with teachers as a Math for All and All Kinds of Minds facilitator in both private and public school settings has enabled her to support them in their development as keen observers of students at work on tasks and their analysis of students’ learning outcomes, as they prepare students to be successful in the classroom and beyond.
