The Director’s Role in Supporting Healthy Teaching Teams

This workshop provides insight into the complex dynamics of team work and will provide program directors with tools and strategies to support the growth of individual teachers and teaching teams. Teams tend to focus their work on curriculum development and the needs of the children; however, focusing on the needs of the team is vital to the health of the team and school community. You will leave this workshop with practical strategies to support teachers, at all levels of their career, in:
  • Developing mentoring skills; 
  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback;
  • Dealing with the inevitable conflicts that arise; and
  • Developing trusting relationships with their team members.

      Jean Schreiber
      Jean Schreiber, MSEd, is an early childhood educational consultant who, for over two decades, has developed and directed early childhood programs and parenting centers. She earned her M.S. in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education where she is an instructor in the Continuing Professional Studies Program. She was honored to be a Featured Speaker at the 2009 NAEYC annual conference in Washington, DC. Ms. Schreiber serves as a consultant to a wide variety of early childhood and elementary school programs and provides guidance to parents in both individual and group settings. Her BA in Psychology is from Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA.
