The Bank Street community in New England is invited to join us for an afternoon of cider and other local fare, along with a conversation and interactive experience with Carol Berner, GSE ’92. We are grateful to our event host, BSCAA Advisory Board Member Carol Hillman, GSE ’67, ’87, President of New Salem Cider and New Salem Preserves, for making this event possible.

About Carol Berner
Carol Berner, GSE ’91, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and has an MSEd from Bank Street Graduate School, where she joined the faculty in 1999. She worked with K–12 students and teachers in New York City and Connecticut for 15 years as a classroom teacher, faculty coach, and curriculum designer. Since moving to Vermont in 2004, Carol has been teaching in the education departments at Smith College, Antioch University New England, and UMass Amherst while working on environmental education projects in local schools and communities.

Carol is regional coordinator of River of Words, a place-based education initiative integrating environmental science, literacy, and the arts in the Connecticut River Valley. Carol coordinates the Water Inquiry group and Mill River Inquiry, ongoing collaborations with Smith students and local K–12 teachers.

Cost:
The event is free of charge, however, a gift to Bank Street of any amount is encouraged and appreciated. Appetizers and one drink ticket will be provided.
