Program Overview
In this program you will learn in depth about the development of babies and toddlers.
You will become skilled at working with families, designing programs, and assessing development.
- For applicants who are interested in developing a specialization in the development of infants and toddlers.
- This program does not lead to teacher certification or to a social work degree.
This program culminates in a Master of Science in Education and requires 36 credits.

Supervised Fieldwork/Advisement
The heart of the program is a year-long supervised fieldwork experience.
- Your opportunity to connect theory and practice.
- You will have a reflective relationship with a mentor and a group of peers.
- Your experiences will include typically developing children, as well as children with disabilities.
- You will have the flexibility to do your fieldwork in a paid position or as a student teacher.
Graduate students in this program have year-long supervised fieldwork experience in a birth through 2-year-old setting. Students are also required to have experiences in programs with children with disabilities or that are under-resourced settings.
