Lynne Einbender teaches literacy courses, and has been a fieldwork advisor since 2002. She came to Bank Street in 1998 to work with a Bank Street professional development project in the Newark Public Schools. From 1998-2007 she designed language arts, social studies and science curricula for K-8 schools and collaborated with school leadership to engage teachers more fully in their own professional development to teach using inquiry-based and workshop approaches. In 2008 she co-founded a charter school in Newark to continue this work and was a board trustee until 2015. Lynne has worked internationally and consults with schools to implement school-wide and cohesive approaches to teaching diverse learners.
