Join Us | Math Leadership Program | Virtual Information Session

Bank Street’s Office of Graduate Admissions is hosting a virtual information session on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00 PM about our Leadership in Mathematics Education program—one of the few programs in the nation that grounds preparation for school leadership in mathematics education and allows you to be eligible for your School Building Leader (SBL) license upon graduation.
Program highlights:
- Fully online 16-month program, starting in summer.
- Using inquiry-based, student-centered pedagogies appropriate to all learners, mathematics at Bank Street focuses on developing leaders who deeply understand mathematical concepts and how to teach all learners for conceptual understanding.
- Our progressive approach views teaching mathematics not as a series of strategies and formulas to memorize, but as a language used to conceptualize the world.
- Graduates are eligible for a New York State School Building Leader license at the end of the program (if you’re outside of New York, you can pursue certification in your home state at program completion).
Our one-hour virtual info session will include breakout rooms with our Program Director Robin Hummel (who is also a proud graduate of the program!), and members of the admissions, financial aid/scholarship, certification, and career services teams. We’ll leave time for Q&A, so please bring all your questions! We have answers!
