Step 3: Finalize Your Plan

Once you’ve reviewed your Financial Aid Offer Letter, we recommend scheduling a meeting with one of our financial aid counselors to finalize your plan. They will review your individual situation and help you to:

  • Review and accept your federal and state funds. 
  • Acknowledge your scholarship and grants, if offered.
  • Secure a loan, if needed. We’ll recommend federal unsubsidized loans and walk you through the process of how to accept a loan. For loan options, see button below.
  • Set up a deferred payment plan, if needed. You can apply for a deferred payment plan, which enable you to make four tuition payments per semester. Read more below.
  • Confirm your enrollment. For your first semester, you’ll need to make a payment before you’re set up with a bankstreet.edu email address and your online MyBSC portal, which is your individual hub for everything you’ll need for your program. From MyBSC, you can:
    • Make payments: We’ll work with you on your payment plan and send reminders via email. Our Bursar will be there to arrange a payment format that works for you.
    • Register for your courses and see your grades.
    • Stay on track with your program requirements so you graduate on time.

A Deferred Payment Plan Can Help

You can split your payments into smaller parts with a deferred payment plan. This will enable you to make four payments during the Fall and Spring terms or three payments during the Summer Long term. Because the Summer 1 and Summer 2 terms are short sessions, deferred payment plans don’t apply.

Still Not Enough? Ask for an Appeal

If your Estimated Financial Aid Offer isn’t what you expected, take a breath and then reach out to us at finaid@bankstreet.edu—we’re really good listeners. You can begin a process to appeal your offer. You’ll explain to us why the information we received from the FAFSA isn’t the whole story. We will work with you to see what we can do to make it possible for you to start your program.

Your Own Student Services Advisor

Once you’re enrolled, you’ll be paired with a Student Services Advisor, called an SSA, who’ll stay by your side from day one until you graduate. Your SSA will:

  • Show you how to register for your first semester of courses
  • Help you to understand your bill and know when payments are due
  • Check in with you regularly about how you’re doing and answer your questions
  • Connect you with your program director and other key people
  • Provide you with a biweekly newsletter chock full of resources like upcoming events and tips and tricks for student success
