Textbooks, textbooks, textbooks!

At Bank Street College, textbookx.com is the official place to get your textbooks for your classes. The website gives you an opportunity to search by term, class, and class section, so make sure you choose the right professors and classes when getting your book lists! The textbooks are sold at a discounted rate.

However, this is not the only place to get your textbooks online. Make sure that you shop around for the best price on a book. BIGWORDSBook Finder, and Campus Books are 3 of many sites that do price comparisons for book titles.

Are you purchasing your books from Amazon? You might want to check out Amazon Student, a program that entitles you to an Amazon Prime account at a discounted rate. Among the many benefits is free two-day shipping, so you can get your textbooks quickly! Amazon, along with websites like Chegg and eCampus, also allow you to rent textbooks.

NYPL_logo1_black_posLast but not least, there are libraries (like the one here at Bank Street). Look at a local New York Public Library branch to see their book collection. You might find that the book you need for class is available (and for an extended period of time). Try the Morningside Heights branch of the New York Public Library, it’s only one block away from Bank Street! The Schwarzmann Branch of the NYPL (located by Bryant Park) has a large selection of books in the research section. Many textbooks are located in this section, although you can only check them out for a few hours at a time.

Good luck hunting for textbook bargains!
